Aya Cash is an American television, film, and stage actress. Her roles include the films The Oranges, Sleepwalk with Me, The Happy House, Mary Goes Round, Game Over, Man!, Social Animals, Scare Me, and We Broke Up, and the series You’re the Worst, Fosse/Verdon, The Boys, Welcome to Flatch, and The Girl from Plainville.
Aya is the daughter of Kim Addonizio (born Kimberly Theresa Addonizio), a poet and novelist, and Eugene Cash, a Buddhist teacher. Her father’s family is Jewish and her mother is Catholic. She was raised Jewish and had a Bat Mitzvah ceremony. She is married to actor, producer, and writer Josh Alexander.
Aya’s maternal grandfather was Robert Richard “Bob” Addonizio/Addie (the son of Anthony A. Addonizio/Addie and Theresa Spaziante). Bob Addie was born in New York, to Italian parents, and was a sportswriter.
Aya’s maternal grandmother was Pauline May Betz (the daughter of Immanuel/Imanual G. Betz and Stella Mae McCandless/McCandles).
