JAKARTA, Indonesia (CelebrityAccess) — Ed Sheeran’s March 2nd concert in Jakarta has been forced to make a last-minute move from Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium to Jakarta International Stadium.

The concert, set for March 2nd, was forced to relocate after running into scheduling issues with Indonesian national football, in light of the team’s upcoming match vs the Vietnam National Team (Timnas) football match which is scheduled to take place on March 21 at GBK.

The match, a key football rivalry in Southeast Asia, will be played as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

“This decision was carefully considered, with the main priority being to support the Indonesia vs Vietnam national football match scheduled to take place on 21 March 2024 at the GBK, whilst ensuring the fans the best concert experience, including the sensation of the iconic 360-degree stage, which is the global standard for this tour,” the tour promoter AEG Presents Asia said, announcing the decision.

According to the statement, promoters are collaborating with the team at JIS to ensure a seamless transition for the show and will work with local partners to ensure that additional parking spots, shuttle buses with a few pick-up and drop-off points, as well as motorbike taxis and ride-hailing services, will be available for fans at the show.

The show is produced by AEG Presents, PK Entertainment, and Sound Rhythm.
