Justine Frischmann is a British artist/painter and musician. She was the lead singer of the Britpop band Elastica, and formed the band Suede.
Her father, Wilem Frischmann, was born to a Jewish family, in Ungvar, then in Czechoslovakia, now known as Uzhhorod, and in the Ukraine. Her father survived the Holocaust, and came to England c. 1946. Wilem is a leading engineer, and was chairman of the internationally recognised firm of consulting engineers Pell Frischmann. Justine’s mother is Russian Jewish.
Justine is married to climate scientist Ian Faloona. She lives in the U.S.
