Celeb Secrets: What made you connect to this character in particular?

Madeline Carroll: “I grew up going to an equestrian center in Burbank and I loved it. When I moved, I couldn’t go anymore so when i got back I resigned up and a few days later I was offered the part. It was definitely meant to be. I had the best time getting to ride again.”

Celeb Secrets: You’ve worked alongside some incredible actors in your career. How was it working with Joey Lawrence and Denise Richards so closely on this film?

Madeline Carroll: “It was amazing. I spent more time with Denise than Joey. My scenes with Denise were so much fun. We just got to spend time with animals, you know. Actually, most of the lines you hear in the film were made by her. She’s just a beautiful person and someone I look up to. I’ve learned so much from her and she hasn’t let her success make her.”

Celeb Secrets: Do you have any favorite moments from filming?

Madeline Carroll: “Gosh. Probably the square dancing scene. It was such a good time and they decorated an entire bar. Everyone was just laughing and having fun. It was so genuine. Night shoots are always the best.”

Celeb Secrets: What challenges did you face?

Madeline Carroll: “There was a scene at the end of the film where I’m racing alongside Cassie. The fires in Santa Clarita were happening at that time and the horse we used was acting funny all day. At one point, the horse reared up and almost ran over her. It was so scary but Cassie is such a professional, it was awesome. but , that was a big challenge the last week of shooting, the fires. We were wearing masks between takes.”

Celeb Secrets: Can you share a secret from the set?

Madeline Carroll: “I actually had really bad food poisoning the night before a race scene. I had one hour of sleep. We had filmed so late the night before, I stopped at Carl’s Jr. in Burbank and threw up all night.”

Celeb Secrets: What are you most excited for people to see in this film and what do you want people to take away from this?

Madeline Carroll: “My fans really loved my movie Flip. It was so innocent and beautiful and this film reminds me of that. I have a heart for the youth. I volunteer at the youth group at my church every Thursday. It was just empowering to watch with your family, it’s a movie for everybody and that’s the kind of stuff I want to make. It was also one of the first films I produced so getting to see that in the credits really blessed me. I’m very proud of it.”
