Preliminary Ratings Show Grammy Viewership Up By 34% From Last Year
LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Paramount has released the overnight ratings for the 66th annual Grammy Awards, revealing that an average of 16.9 million viewers watched the broadcast in 2024.
According to Paramount, that’s a 34% increase over the previous year and the highest watch totals for the veteran award show since 2020.
Additionally, those numbers are likely to grow in the coming days, with anticipated +3-day viewership on track for an average of more than 17 million viewers.
The show’s viewership peaked before 10 PM, when more than 18.25 million viewers tuned in during the show’s In-Memoriam segment with performances by Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Jon Batiste, and Fantasia Barrino.
Paramount also noted that Grammy viewers continue to move to streaming this year, and while they did not provide concrete streaming numbers, the viewership count for the Grammys on Paramount+ grew by +173% and represented the award show’s largest Paramount+ audience.
