Raut says her love for fish is "eternal." Fish is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and a wealth of minerals such as iron and zinc, not to mention calcium and phosphorus. Aim to eat two portions of fish a week, the American Heart Association recommends. "It's important to find a variety of fish you like so you're not just having two servings a week of the same fish and you tire of it after a month and stop eating it," says Eric Rimm, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Raut's favorite dish is a salad she makes herself. "Salad with shredded cheese and feta cheese," she says. "On top of that, crumbled crispy onion rings, Ken's sweet Vidalia onion dressing and lots of grilled chicken. It is really good as it is healthy. Tummy full with no guilt."

Raut loves martial arts workouts. These workouts offer many health benefits, not least being invigorating, full-body workouts. Raut says fitness is more than just having a great body—it's about health as well as being a stress-buster. "It gives me immense confidence and I get good sleep at night," she says.

Raut's go-to lunch is a simple sandwich made with wholewheat bread. "With all the veggies available – preferably lettuce, olives, chicken salami and mint mayonnaise and nimbu sherbet to go with it," she says. "Eating whole instead of refined grains substantially lowers total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or bad) cholesterol, triglycerides, and insulin levels," says Harvard Health.

Raut's wellness regimen is sensible and realistic. "Balanced diet with fiber-rich food and natural proteins is the best way to keep fit," she says. "One has to work according to their body requirements and fix a diet and consequently plan an exercise regime."
